Kissing Bridge is easy to get to if you are in the Buffalo area, it is more affordable than some and every employee we encountered was knowledgeable, kind and professional. Kissing Bridge has 700 acres of terrain over 37 trails. Also, I like that they have music playing over speakers outside the lodge-- that adds to the atmosphere. On my recent trip however, we came while it was snowing and the slopes were not groomed at all.
My family and I took a 90 minute lesson since my kids had never skied and my husband and I hadn't skied if years. It's pity that one person can totally negate the efforts done by other great! I can keep myself up and accelerate, but I'm not really in control here. Bads: -Terrible snowmaking coverage, only 3 slopes open at the same time that holiday valley had 20. It wasn't our first time there, so this kind of behavior was unexpected. The two main slopes are separated by. But the bartender was racist and almost ruined the day.
And all of them have a steeper drop at the very last bit of the trail. I came eager to learn, step out of my comfort zone and have an awesome thrilling ride down the slopes. If you're going to get lessons, I would recommend doing a private, small group lesson as those appeared to be much better. Intermediate groomed cruisers are the most prevalent throughout the resort, with beginners and difficult runs thrown in. Bought 2 tickets through liftopia for 1-18-17.
Kissing Bridge is located in a snowbelt getting an average of 182 inches of snow and also makes a lot of its own snow. I guess I've been spoiled by other ski places that are more resort-like. Both at the ticket counter and while in line. No you kinda have to walk half way back to get a trail that has a pass. They do have indoor locker and picnic areas which are nice for families on a budget.
I didn't get a chance to try any food at the cafeteria or even get a pint for that matter so no inputs in that area. The staff is really friendly and are always ready to help, give pointers, answer questions etc. I highly recommend the tacos! To top it off, he just yelled at me, stormed away. I didn't hate skiing here, I just didn't like it as much as peak and peek or holiday valley. Oh wait, no, scratch that. We have no information about the existence of any cross country ski trails at Kissing Bridge.
They taught me the ropes and after about an hour I felt comfortable giving the hill a whirl again and I could now control myself on my skis. Got here by 5:30 pm and got right to it. My boyfriend has been trying to get me to go skiing for years. The fire place there is super nice and cozy, bars are fun with live music. Close to buffalo like 30-45 minuets drive. I continued to ski the day away and tried to upgrade my pass to go on the steeper slopes after feeling comfortable on here, but ran into some problems because of the way we arranged our group ticket, I could only upgrade with cash, but I only had a credit card on me , but no matter. Yeah it's older, but it has a ton of character, I love the cozy bar area and how everything is connected from the picnic area to the ticket desk, and the new deck area with fire pits is great too. Kissing Bridge offers a great wide area on which to ski, with each run with a close accompanying parallel lift. Some friendly and helpful, some put off by my existence. Kissing Bridge snow reports are sourced directly from the ski resorts and are only recorded during the official ski season's opening to closing dates. The whole point of this hill to exist is for people who are learning. Kissing Bridge should a take responsibility for dealing with a poor organization such as Liftopia and do the right P.
It was fun, but their bunny hill is really small and uses a pulley lift which requires a bit of strength and it can be awkward with many people including myself falling going up on it every now and then.
